Home Remedies for Sunburn

Sunburn - What is it?

When our skin is exposed to too much of ultra violet rays from the sun, it gets burnt leading to sunburn.
The skin turns red, and the person might feel faint or dizzy. Most cases, the damage could be permanent and could lead to skin cancer if not treated immediately.

Home Remedies For Sunburn

Sunburn Home Remedies with Yogurt:

A dairy product, yogurt is made from milk and is a part of certain cuisines around the world. It is also available in different flavors and to suit different palates. Slim, half fat, full fat and so on are also seen in various stores.
  • Apply some yogurt on the burnt skin area, leave on for about 3-5 minutes and then wash it off with cool water.
  • Make a paste using yogurt, turmeric powder and barley. Apply this on the burnt skin to help relieve the pain and redness.
  • You can make buttermilk from the yogurt; take 6 parts of that, then it along with 1 part of tomato juice. This should then be applied liberally on the sunburn, left for half an hour and then rinsed off.

Natural Treatments for Sunburn with Vegetables:

There are a few vegetables that all of us love and wouldn't mind eating on a daily basis. Potatoes, carrots, cucumber are some of them, that are also good for our health and keeps our body cool.
  • Take a few slices of cucumber and place them on the inflamed areas.
  • You can also peel a potato, thinly slice it and apply those on the sun burnt.
