Snuffles - What is it?

Snuffles or Rhinitis as it is commonly called is where there is blockage in the respiratory path of a child or infant.
It is usually accompanied with sneezing, irritation in the eyes, and the child unable to breathe normally.

Home Remedies For Snuffles

Snuffles Home Remedies with Camphor and Lavender oil:

Camphor is a solid wax like product that is used mostly to keep away moths and insects from our homes and cupboards.
Lavender oil is used to add fragrance to our closets, and is also high on medicinal value.
  • Take some camphor, mix with lavender oil and add a bit of warm olive oil to make a paste. Rub this on the chest to provide relief from snuffles.

Natural Treatments for Snuffles with Vitamin C:

Vitamin C is found in almost all citric fruits and many vegetables. It is required for our immune system to function well.
  • Take some freshly made orange juice, add this to boiled water and drink a few spoonfuls through the day.

Snuffles Remedies with Eucalyptus:

Eucalyptus is a tree that grows in hills that has a lovely fragrance is used mainly to relieve of headaches and other pains.
The oil from the tree is a good medicine for many internal ailments as well.
  • To treat snuffles, add a few drops of eucalyptus oil to warm water and place it in the room. The vapor will spread through air and help breathe better.

Snuffles Remedies with Salt:

A flavoring agent that we use liberally through the day in our cooking is salt. It is added to make the taste better and at times to cut down the spice. It is also used to ward off evil.
  • Take 1\2 cup of boiling water and melt a teaspoon of salt in it. Drip a few drops into the nostril to help with the snuffles.
