Home Remedies for Lice

Lice - What is it?

Lice are tiny, wingless parasites that live in human hairs and feeds on small amounts of blood from the scalp.
Lice are commonly seen in girls aged 3 to 12 years old. Lice are not dangerous creatures and they don't spread diseases. But then, these parasites can be contagious. They easily spread through head-to-head contact, bed linens, combs, and brushes. These tiny insects have adapted claws that allow them to crawl and cling firmly to the hair.
There are some home remedies for lice that you can use from the comforts of your abode.

Home Remedies For Lice

Lice Home Remedies with Vinegar:

Vinegar helps get rid of lice in as fast as two days and it would not just leave you without lice whatsoever, but it would also keep your hair dandruff-free.
Before taking a bath, put pure cane vinegar onto your hair. Leave it for 10-15 minutes. Then rinse it off with warm water. Use your favorite shampoo right after. Use a nit comb after shower to groom your hair.

Natural Treatments for Lice with Tea Tree Oil and Coconut Oil:

Applying coconut oil after shampoo kills lice and nits in a matter of a day or two. Add 10 to 15 drops of tea tree oil to your favorite shampoo. Then apply coconut oil after rinsing your hair. Comb your hair with the use of a nit comb. Do this daily for best results.

Lice Remedies with Olive Oil, Tea Tree Oil, and Eucalyptus Oil:

The combination of all these oils can be useful remedies to fight off lice.
Mix 3 tablespoons of olive oil, a teaspoon of tea tree oil, and one teaspoon of eucalyptus oil in your shampoo. Apply the solution to your hair and cover your head tightly with a towel for half an hour before rinsing it all off.

Perform one or all of these remedies to help you get rid of head lice.
Be extra cautious with children's scalp as they are very sensitive and may damage or irritate easily. Find and use the best solution with lots of caution.
