Home Remedies for Labor Pain

Labor Pain - What is it?

Labor pains are the pains associated with the contractions of the uterus when a pregnant woman is about to give birth.
These contractions increase in frequency and intensity as the child inside the womb is gearing to get out. That's the time when the uterus opens up and starts to stretch to allow the baby to come out through the birth canal.
There are home remedies for labor pains. If you're about to give birth and the pain becomes too much to bear, there are home remedies that could help you get through it.

Home Remedies For Labor Pain

Labor Pain Home Remedies with Nutmag Tea:

Just drink a warm cup of nutmeg tea right at the first signs of labor pain.
Nutmeg proves to be helpful in reliving muscle contractions. It also eases the pain associated to the condition. If you are expecting to give birth this month, make sure you stock up on nutmeg tea so you can drink some all the way to the hospital.

Natural Treatments for Labor Pain with Red Rapberry:

Just like nutmeg tea, you can also make red raspberries into a tea and drink it. As the contractions start, drink it. Raspberry could help promote the necessary uterine expansion, which would speed up the delivery of the child. As such, mothers would experience reduced labor pains while giving birth.

Labor Pain Remedies with Ginger:

A ginger bath is also a good aid for labor pains. To prepare one, boil 10-15 grams of ginger in two cups water. Mix the resulting solution in a tubful of lukewarm water. Fill the bathtub with enough water to soak yourself. The ginger bath will help alleviate the pain and the discomfort associated to child labor. There will be lesser instances of cramps as well.

Labor Pain Home Remedies with Olive Oil:

Use olive oil to give the expectant mother a regular gentle massage. A soft massage to the perineum area is best. Put some olive oil in the skin and apply some warm compress. Doing so would prevent episiotomies.
