Home Remedies for Diaper Rash

Diaper Rash - What is it?

Babies with diaper rash are very irritable and cries all the time.
Patches of red skin in the baby's buttocks characterize diaper rash.
It is a form of dermatitis, which is a common case of inflamed skin.
Diaper rash could be anywhere from mild to severe. But whichever the case might be, you have to treat it right away to keep your baby from harm.
There are some home remedies you can use to treat Diaper Rash naturally.

Home Remedies For Diaper Rash

Home Remedies for Diaper Rash with Cornstarch:

Cornstarch is the most common home remedy for diaper rash.
It helps in drying up the damp areas of the baby's bottom. It also reduces the friction caused by the diaper on the skin.
Don't use talcum powder on your baby. Some studies show that talcum powder is dangerous when inhaled by babies.

Natural Treatments for Diaper Rash with Vinegar:

For diaper rash caused by urine sticking to the baby's skin, vinegar could be helpful.
Urine is an alkaline solution and vinegar is acid. Applying vinegar could balance the PH in the baby's skin. It could get rid of soap build up and diaper smell as well.
  • To use it, just mix eight parts water with one part vinegar.

Natural Remedies for Diaper Rash with Cranberry juice:

Cranberry juice has nutrients that could help in keeping bacteria away from the bladder walls. This helps infection from developing. Bacteria infested urine can cause diaper rash.
  • Give older infants two to three ounces of cranberry juice to help relieve diaper rash.
