Home Remedies for Cuts

Cuts - What is it?

Cuts or scraps on your skin, causing it to bleed can be very painful.
While cuts don't always merit a trip to the emergency room, you have to perform some first aid especially if the bleeding won't stop. You also need to attend to the wound right away so as to avoid infections or other possible complications.
There are home remedies you can try for cuts.

Home Remedies For Cuts

Home Remedies for Cuts with Garlic:

Garlic has always been used in treating cuts even in the olden times.
Garlic contains anti-microbial agents that can protect you from infections. This is the reason why this food item is always recommended for scrapes, cuts, and sores.
However, it could be a little irritating so don't leave in on your skin for more than 25 minutes.
  • To use garlic for cuts, mix three cloves with a cup of wine. Put it on a blender. Then leave it there for three hours. Strain it. Clean your wound. Apply the mixture. Do it twice a day.

Treat Cuts with Vinegar:

Get white vinegar from your kitchen counter and mix it with a pint of water. Soak the affected area to remove scabs.
The solution will kill all bacteria already present in the cut. Vinegar may sting so be very careful.

Natural Treatments for Cuts with Aloe:

Aloe can be used with almost all types of skin problems, including cuts.
If you have Aloe Vera plant in your garden, break off a leaf and apply its juice on the affected part. Repeat after a few hours.

Natural Remedies for Cuts with Honey:

Honey is effective for cuts too. It works by dehydrating the bacteria that might be present in the wound.
  • To use honey, just place it on the gauze. Clean the wound and put the gauze over it.

Remedies for Cuts with Onion:

If you don't have garlic in your kitchen, you can use onions instead.
Just like garlic, onions have the same anti-microbial element called allicin.
  • Cut the onion into halves and crush one part using a blender. You can mix it with honey for best results. Apply it on the wound but don't leave it there for more than an hour. Apply the mixture thrice a day.
