Home Remedies for Comedo

What is Comedo?

Comedo is the primary sign of acne.
Comedo can either be a closed or an open type.
Closed comedo is commonly known as whiteheads while open comedo is more popularly referred to as blackheads.
Closed comedo has an obstructed opening that can be ruptured. When that happens, a low-grade infection could form on the skin area. On the other hand, open comedo produces a wide opening on the skin, which is usually capped with blackened mass.
Treating these two types of comedo is easy. You can find the most common solutions right inside your homes.

Home Remedies For Comedo

Treat Comedo with Salt Solution:

All you have to do is to wash your face with warm salty water and comedo will be history. The salt solution will leave you with an oil-free face.
Comedo usually forms due to excessive oil on the face. Salt is what you can use to seal off the face's overactive oil producing glands.

Treat Comedo with Lemon Juice:

Put an equal quantities of lemon juice and water in a cotton ball. Apply it on your skin, focusing on the part where comedo had formed. Leave it for half an hour and then rinse thoroughly. Do this every night for 15 to 20 days.
Lemon juice is rich in Vitamin C that is a good anti-oxidant. It can get rid of all toxins found on the surface of the skin.

Treat Comedo with Dried Basil:

Cook 3 bags of tea and then mix with dried basil for 10 minutes.
Apply gently on the face with acne using cotton. The oil in basil called ocimum basilicum is one effective topical treatment of comedos and mild acne.

Remedies for Comedo with Tomatoes:

Apply ripe tomatoes on acne and pimples for 1 hour then wash with warm water.
Tomatoes are good in getting rid of oils in the face too. It is also rich in Vitamin C that could get rid of all acne-causing bacteria present in the face.
