Home Remedies for Blisters

Blisters - What is it?

Blisters are small bumps on the skin that are filled with either water or blood. They usually form due to burns and friction.
The formation of blisters is actually a part of the body's defense mechanism. The body tries to regenerate new skin on the skin's affected area by creating a barrier with some fluids inside.

Mild blisters can easily be treated at home. There are many home remedies that can be performed, unless of course you're diabetic and your wounds don't heal normally as it should.

Home Remedies For Blisters

Home Remedies for Blisters with Petroleum Jelly:

You can keep blisters from forming on the soles of your feet and anywhere else by applying petroleum jelly on the part where there's too much friction.
Friction is the main cause of blisters. And petroleum jelly is the thing that could make the skin smooth and silky, reducing the instances of skin grinding with each other.

Treat Blisters with Baby Powder:

If in case petroleum jellies are not around, use baby powder instead.
The powder would keep the body part, most especially your foot, dry and hygienic. If the skin is dry, it will not cling or rub into something, forming blisters in the process.

Natural Treatments for Blisters with Aloe Vera Juice:

Just in case blisters had already formed in your skin, find yourself some Aloe Vera juice or gel.
If you have an Aloe Vera plant in your garden, you can pluck a leaf and apply its sap or juice directly into the affected area.
The Aloe Vera gels that are available over-the-counter would also work. Aloe Vera has soothing properties known to alleviate the swelling and pain caused by the blisters.

Natural Remedies for Blisters with Hazel:

Hazel contains the natural astringent called tannis. This nutrient could help in relieving blister pains.
Apply it on the affected area four times everyday. Hazel also helps in drying the blister a bit faster.
